Here we describe the quality of wiki as an awareness engine, enabling people to know and use what others make of their own work, and what they choose to connect it up with.
Each wiki is 'a site'. A collection of wikis on a server is 'a farm'. Wiki is federated, site-to-site and farm-to-farm, which means that sites and farms (and the authors of sites) can know about activities (writing, editing) on other sites and farms. We might think of wiki in this aspect as an 'awareness engine'. Mutuality is baked-in. Collaborative link Collectivity & mutuality
We can see who clones apage of ours (forking), and if we like their fork of a page we can fork it back. But every wiki has just one owner/writer. In this respect, even though wiki is for sharing, it's like a 'commonplace book' or evolving personal notebook. It represents the evolving awareness of a single writer, even if they actively collaborate. Commonplace book
